Welcome to my blog-my journey to creating wellness starts here:)
I am a very busy mom of four, we homeschool, and we are involved heavily in community and activities. My brain goes a million miles a minute most of the time. My main focus with this blog is to slow down, reflect, be in the moment, and learn more about spiritual wellness. Mindfullness has been a goal of mine for quite awhile, and I practice moments of it daily:) It helps to clear the mind, and bring me into the moment, to be present, and appreciate the "pause" in time. Peace~ Sami
Hello, Sami. I know exactly how you feel. Most of the time, I feel like every time I have a moment where I'm not physically doing something, my mind is going over the "to do" list for three days from now! I need to slow my mind down as well!
ReplyDeleteHi Sami, I love the title of your blog, in fact it's what made me pick this one. :) I also have four children and one grandson. I work part time at our preschool and am also involved with my community. The time where my mind runs and it won't stop is in the middle of the night. If I wake up then I think about everything. I'm seriously going to try the exercise that we listened to and see if I can get the blood to go from my head to my gut :). I am really excited about learning more and applying it to my life!
ReplyDeleteMindfulness can really help you stay relaxed in times of stress. I once took a class all about mindfulness and it was very interesting. I also try to incorporate practices into my daily life. And they don't have to be huge, just little reminders to slow down and take a few deep breaths!!
ReplyDeleteSami,
ReplyDeleteHave you thought that life tends to stress you more with being busy? It's great that you take a moment to look back and 'pause' some people just keep going with the stress. Have you tried any other methods to help reduce stress? Lately I have been running and I seem to get a 'runners high' afterwords I feel happier and less stressed. Hope you're able to continue to be stress free!

David, Yes, busy lifestyles can create stress. I have learned to create peace, each day. It wasn't easy, but I have done it. I get on my treadmill daily, and either turn on a show that I love, or crank up music:) Music, by the way, definitely releases me from stress. It always has. I do find the time. With kids, it is not easy, but fortunately, they are older now, and more independent. When they were small, there was no release-for years. I never even had a sitter for 11 years:/ I learned from that-I was stressed, my marriage was terrible...I actually had more of an opportunity to find time for myself as a single mom:) Runner's high is AMAZING-keep it up.:)
DeleteSami,
ReplyDeleteI love the way the colors work with your blog. I could just tell by the bright colors you are always moving. Now I know why, four children and I don't know how you do it. I have one daughter, never been married and I do think I will ever be. I hear so many people that are unhappy and moaning and groaning about their situations and simply my harsh words of wisdom are always, "you put yourself in it, and now you need to change it" I actually said it to someone tonight as we were working, he started going off about the girlfriend issues and I just cut him off and said "your fault, change it" I know I probably sounded a bit rude but I try to keep a positive side to most everything. I try not to surround myself with negativity, so I nip it in the bud!
The relaxation technique I thought was a bit annoying at first then it mellowed out with the actually exercise. Although it really didn't work for me, I will not give up on trying more.
